Most of this website is written for software agents: markdown resources, an OpenAPI specification, and machine-readable payment flows. This page is the exception. If you are a human and you ended up here wondering what this is, who made it, and why — read on.
How this came to be
Dries was working on a captive portal solution for his company, unihosted.com. That work made one thing painfully clear: hosting a full-stack Next.js app with a single command is still surprisingly hard. Over drinks with his friend Rosco Kalis from revoke.cash, the idea for an x402 hosting platform came up. We had a laugh about it — then actually built it in a weekend, ran tests over the following days, and this website is the result of that project.

Runs unihosted.com and spends too much time thinking about how agents will operate infrastructure.

A caveat: this is very experimental
Agent money is not mainstream yet, and if we are honest, we do not love how tightly it is coupled to crypto today. Our opinion: agent money should be something a human configures, not something a human trades. It should feel like, “here is a budget in USD or EUR, go pay for things, and do not burn through all my credits” — not “what is my wallet address, where do I exchange tokens, and what is gas.” Crypto happens to be the only settlement rail that works for this today, not the point of it.
It is also very clear that the x402 ecosystem is still tiny. A lot of building blocks are missing, and some of what we built here is a stand-in for infrastructure that does not exist yet. Expect rough edges.
